Douglas Johnston was the governor of the Chickasaw Nation from 1898 - 1902, and again from 1906 - 1939. His home located in Emet, Oklahoma (a.k.a., "The Chickasaw White House") was acquired by the Chickasaw Nation int he late 1990's and is to become a museum concerning the life of Douglas Johnston. The Small Group was retained to provide restoration design services and the production of a Historic Structures Report. The master plan also includes a separate Visitor's Center and an interpretive trail throughout the original homesite.
